Somerset snow: the morning after the night in the village hall

Last night, there were problems on the roads within minutes of the snow falling. Some motorists were forced to abandon their cars overnight because of the difficult driving conditions.

About 30 people in Somerset had no alternative but to abandon their cars on the A39 between Minehead and Bridgwater and seek refuge in a village hall. The community in Nether Stowey teamed together to help provide shelter and hot food and drink for the dozens unable to get home.
