The birds are thought to have migrated to the Lizard Peninsula from West Sussex.

By-the-wind sailors are hydrozoans – a colony of tiny individual animals called hydroids.

Cornwall Wildlife Trust said although only one beaver has officially been sighted, the extent of the activity in the area suggests there may be more.
