Plymouth Argyle and Portsmouth fans travelling to today's League Two play off are facing delays as work on demolishing a bridge over runs. The old bridge at Merafield is being removed and replaced in a project costing £6 million.

Highways England defends bridge demolition delays
A38 Westbound carriageway re-opens at Merafield
The westbound carriageway of the A38 has now re-opened after the old bridge at Merafield was demolished. Police say the eastbound carriageway is likely to stay closed until later this evening.
Diversion routes are said to be very congested. People heading from Cornwall are advised to use the A30.
Local users are advised to use the B3416.

Plymouth Argyle and Portsmouth fans travelling to today's League Two play off are facing delays as work on demolishing a bridge over runs. The old bridge at Merafield is being removed and replaced in a project costing £6 million.
Police say the A38 will re-open at 3pm. People are being advised to allow extra time to get to the game, which kicks off at 6pm.
Currently there are tailbacks to Smithaleigh and Manadon. There is a diversion through Plympton.
