Hundreds are expected to turn out for a walk to raise awareness of the death of seven year old April Reeves from Weston-super-Mare who died following a collision on the A371.

April died when the pushbike she was riding was in collision with a car last month (28/5).

Parents and local teachers are now campaigning for the speed limit on the A371 to be reduced. The walk is through the village of Locking and begins just after 9am.

In light of the recent tragedy that happened on the A371 in Locking in which 7 year old April was killed we are now aiming to raise awareness of this lethal road in the hope of getting the speed limit reduced down from the current ridiculous 60mph it is.

We are also going to be campaigning to have a number of pedestrian crossings installed as currently there is only one concrete bridge which is inaccessible to anyone with buggies/bikes or wheelchair users.

The walk coincides with a national campaign by the road safety charity Brake which has published a survey showing a quarter of parents say the route between their home and primary school is safe enough for children to walk or cycle unsupervised.
