Hundreds gathered for the funeral of a teenager who died in an alleged machete attack.

The 19-year-old died in outside a pub in Tuffley on Saturday 24 January.

44-year-old Ewen Reynolds has been charged with Zac's murder and after a short court appearance was remanded in custody.

Hundreds of people filled Gloucester Cathedral today to remember a teenager who died after an being struck with a machete.

19-year-old Zac Evans was killed three weeks ago after an alleged attack outside a pub in Tuffley, a man has been charged with his murder.

Today mourners dressed in his favourite colour blue, shared tears and laughter as they celebrated his short life. Zac's coffin was driven in the sidecar of a motorbike.

His mother spoke of how her talented musician son had always longed to be famous, while his friends added he would have loved the attention.

It was a fantastic highlight to what has been an extremely traumatic four weeks since Zac died for all his family and friends, some of whom have just not known what to do with themselves. But today has been a real focus and it has been a positive focus, we have focused on Zac's young life, he had such a zest for life and he made so many other people happy by the way that he lived and the way he looked out for other people.

The funeral of a teenager from Gloucester who died in an alleged machete attack will be held today.

19-year-old Zac Evans died in January when he was attacked outside the Pike and Musket pub in Tuffley.

The service will take place at Gloucester Cathedral after more than £8,000 was donated to cover the costs.

Zac's mother has asked people to wear blue at the ceremony.

The funeral of teenager Zac Evans who died from machete wounds outside a pub in Gloucester will take place this Friday.

His mother says that she would like Gloucester Cathedral to be filled with people who knew him or were moved by his death.

And she is thanking the local community for their support.

A man is due before magistrates in Cheltenham this morning charged with murder following a machete attack in Gloucester.

19-year-old Zac Evans died outside the Pike and Musket pub in Tuffley. Two others were also injured during the attack in the early hours of Saturday morning. 44 year old Ewen Reynolds was charged with murder and attempted murder yesterday evening.

Police have charged a man with murder after a Gloucester teenager was killed in a machete attack.

Today the family of Zac Evans paid tribute to a 'wonderful son, brother and grandson', saying he was one of the bravest, kindest young people, they had ever known.

Man charged after 'machete attack' in Gloucester

A man has been charged with the murder of 19-year-old Zac Evans in Gloucester on Saturday 24 January.

44-year-old Ewen Reynolds from Foley Close, Tuffley in Gloucester is due before magistrates tomorrow (Wednesday 27 January) charged with Zac's murder and the attempted murder of another man during the same incident.

Zac died following the incident outside The Pike and Musket pub in Windsor Drive, Tuffley, Gloucester, shortly before 12.40am on Saturday 24 January.

Although a man has now been charged the investigation is still in its early stages and I continue to appeal to anyone with information to call Gloucestershire Police on 101, quoting incident 12 of 24 January.
