Four-day fire strike underway

Fire Brigades Union in the South West say they will continue to strike until the Government offers a better deal in their dispute over pensions. Tam McFarlane told us no firefighter wants to strike but they have no option.

Firefighters across the west country have walked out on strike for the weekend in their bitter row with the Government over pensions, ahead of a series of firework displays.

Members of the Fire Brigades Union left their stations at 6pm yesterday and will not return until 6pm on Tuesday, the evening before Bonfire Night.
