Elderly shown how to get rid of unwanted callers
There's been a week-long campaign by police to stop rogue traders. It finished with a training session for pensioners - giving tips about how to get unwanted callers away from the front door.
Last year there were 140 reported incidents across Avon and Somerset. But police believe that figure is low as many people are too embarassed to speak with officers - or think that a crime hasn't even been committed, when it has.

It's aimed at educating people to know what to do if they get unwanted callers at their doors.

One initiative of Rogue Trader Week saw officers in Bristol performing stop checks on vehicles to make sure they were roadworthy and had licences to dispose of waste.
