Girl bitten by foot-long rat

A seven-year-old girl is recovering after being attacked in her bed by a foot-long rat. It left Francesca Williams with blood pouring from her face and arm.

As Richard Payne reports, her parents were woken by their daughter's screams in the middle of the night to find the rodent under the bed. It was eventually killed by the family dog.

Darren Williams seven-year-old daughter was attacked by a rat in the middle of the night. She's now on anti-biotics and is recovering. Her father says he still can't believe it happened.

Francesca Williams woke up to a "brown animal" on her bed. A rat had bitten her whilst she slept and she woke up bleeding. She says she was scared at the time but isn't anymore.
