Homeless dogs named after gold medal winners
Homeless dogs have been named after Team GB's gold medal winners in a bid to get them re-homed. Battersea Dogs and Cats Home named wo seven-week-old Chihuahuas after rowers Heather Stanning and Helen Glover. Cyclist Bradley Wiggins had a Stafforshire bull terrier named after him.

Special stamp marks rowing victory
The historic win by West Country rowers Helen Glover and Heather Stanning to become the first British women to take an Olympic rowing gold will be celebrated on a special stamp.
The stamp, which features an image of the golden girls smiling and waving to supporters following their historic win, will be on sale in more than 500 Post Office branches from lunchtime on Thursday.
An additional 4,700 post offices will receive the Gold Medal stamps within a week.
Royal Mail said it would be the first time it has produced a stamp within 24 hours.
The stamps cost the normal first class price of 60p.

Prime Minister congratulates West Country rowing pair
Prime Minister David Cameron hailed the rowers' success during a visit to the Giant's Causeway in Northern Ireland, saying: "Can I first of all say how delighted I am about Heather and Helen's gold medal in the rowing - an absolutely fantastic effort."

Gold for West Country pair
Team GB claimed its first gold medal of London 2012 today, thanks to a pair of rowers from the West Country.
Helen Glover, from Penzance, and Yeovil-born Heather Stanning became the first British women to take an Olympic rowing gold in front of an ecstatic crowd at Eton Dorney.
