Fire crews saved the leisure club and 16 of the hotel’s 120 bedrooms from the fire.
Fire service says blow torch was likely cause of fire
Cornwall fire service has confirmed that the most likely cause of the fire at the Falmouth Beach Hotel yesterday was a worker's blow torch. It's now out after crews battled through the night to control the flames.
Police also say that three people who had been missing have now been accounted for but they still want to hear from any non-residents who may have been at the hotel when it broke out at midday yesterday

The fire, which broke out at the Falmouth Beach Hotel in Falmouth, is now out after fire crews battled to gain control over the flames.
Best Western Hotels believe the fire crews managed to save the leisure club and 16 of the hotel’s 120 bedrooms from the fire.
The rest of the property has been destroyed.

All guests from Falmouth Beach hotel have been located
All guests from the Falmouth Beach Hotel have now been accounted for. Earlier this morning, there were three guests that hadn't contacted the police to let them know of their whereabouts. It was believed that they had been on day trips at the time of the fire. They have now been located.
Police are assisting the Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service in the investigation of the large fire at the Falmouth Beach Hotel in Cliff Road.
Devon and Cornwall police released the below statement:
8,000 litres of sea water pumped into hotel a minute
Fire crews are pumping 8,000 litres per minute of sea water to try and dampen the remains of the blaze at Falmouth Beach Hotel.
3km of hosepipe is running from Gyllyngvase Beach down the road and to the hotel.
Fire crews use sea water to damp down fire
Fire crews tackling the blaze at the Falmouth Beach Hotel are using sea water to help dampen the site.
They've put a special pump into the sea which is distributing thousands of gallands in their continued attempt to damp down the fire.
