Farmers Benefit From Rain

For months farmers have said crops are suffering because of all the dry weather, so this April rain couldn't have come at a better time. Our Gloucestershire correspondent Ken Goodwin has spent the day with one farmer who's been explaining why the rain could help save us money.

We might complain about the rain, but farmers say it has come at just the right time.

Nick Bumford who farms near guiting power in the cotswolds says that the rain is helping crops through the growing season which should mean cheaper food on the shelves after harvest time.

The river windrush crosses his land and only a month ago it was a trickle. Now it is flowing well.
