Sentencing of Peter Rowell

Peter Rowell's victims sat just feet away from him in court today as he was sent to prison for six years. The television and radio presenter exploited his fame to groom and sexually abuse five girls aged between 13 -15. The court heard statements from those girls who said he had ruined their lives.

The former television and radio presenter Peter Rowell has been sentenced to six years.

Rowell, who's from South Gloucestershire admitted indecently assaulting 5 young girls and making indecent images of children. The sexual assaults - all on girls under the age of 16 - took place between 1989 and the early 90s. Rowell worked in the media in the South West for more than 20 years.
