Drink driver caught four times over the limit on M4 near Swindon
A drink driver has been charged after being caught speeding and over the limit on the M4 near Swindon.
Swindon Police said on Thursday 2 January: “We recorded a Volkswagen Polo travelling at a speed of 96 miles per hour on the M4 just after 2am on 1 January.
“The car was stopped and the driver, Nerijus Kavaliunas, 34, was breath tested at the scene.
“Kavaliunas, of Borodin Close, Basingstoke, failed this test and was recorded having 170 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of his breath. This is more than four times the 35ug legal limit for driving.
“We seized his vehicle and transported his two passengers to Gablecross Police Station.”
Kavaliunas was charged with drink driving and speeding.
He will be sentenced at Swindon Magistrates' Court on 6 February and is disqualified from driving until then.
