Helston murder inquiry: Detectives given more time to question women suspected of hiding man's death
Detectives investigating the death of a man in Cornwall have been given extra time to question two suspects in custody.
The warrant granted by Bodmin Magistrates’ Court allows police to detain the suspects for a further 36 hours.
Devon and Cornwall Police continue to appeal for anyone with information to come forward.
The force said in a statement that officers were making enquiries in the Helston area in the early hours of Wednesday 18 December following concerns for welfare.
During those enquiries, they found a man's body in a car in Helston Business Park.
A man in his 60s, who is from the Avon and Somerset area, was confirmed dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.
Two women - aged in their 50s and 80s, also from Avon and Somerset - were arrested on suspicion of murder, concealing a death, and preventing a lawful burial.
They remain in police custody at this time.
Detectives say they are treating this incident as an isolated matter and are not seeking anyone else. It is believed all involved parties knew each other.
There will be an increased police presence at the business park as enquiries continue.
Anyone with information which may assist our investigation is asked to contact police on 101 or online quoting log 406 of 17 December.
