Man arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving after woman, 60s, dies in Plymouth crash
A man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after a woman died in a crash in Plymouth.
Emergency services were called to Ham Drive at around 5.30pm on Tuesday 17 December, following a crash involving a grey Audi and a silver Ford Fiesta.
Devon and Cornwall Police said the driver of the fiesta, a woman in her 60s from Plymouth, died in the crash.
A man in his 30s has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and driving whilst unfit through drink or drugs.
He was taken to hospital to be treated for his injuries, officers said.
Inspector Jane Corkhill, head of the Serious Collisions Investigation Team, said: "We are deeply saddened that a lady has lost her life in yet another fatal road traffic collision on our Devon and Cornwall’s roads.
"As always, my team are conducting a thorough, complex investigation to provide answers for the victim's family and friends.
"Our thoughts are very much with the victim and her family at this terribly tragic time and they will be supported by specially trained officers throughout the investigation".
Officers are appealing for anyone with information or dashcam footage which assist the investigation to contact the force.
