A busy A-road in Somerset has been closed in both directions due to an accident.

Both carriageways of the A39 at Washford are blocked this afternoon (24 September).

Traffic is building in the area following the incident.

Traffic monitoring service, Inrix has issued an update. It reads: "A39 Station Road in both directions blocked, queueing traffic due to accident at Washford."
