Man arrested in Salisbury after reported attempted rape

A man has been arrested in Salisbury on suspicion of attempted rape after an alleged assault on a teenage girl.

Wiltshire Police were called to Mill Lane, Stratford sub Castle in response to the reported incident shortly after 11am on Thursday.

A police statement said that the man was also arrested for possession of a bladed article in a public place.

Officers are asking anyone who witnessed the incident to get in contact on 101.
