The M5 was closed in both directions between junction 25 and 26 after a 'police incident' this morning (28 December).

In an update, police have said that a 58-year-old man died after falling from an overbridge.

Avon and Somerset Police say they were called to the scene around 8am after a pedestrian collided with two cars.

The northbound carriageway reopened around midday, police confirmed.

Emergency services are currently at the scene between Taunton and Wellington.

Drivers are being advised to find alternative routes in the area.
