Stonehouse murder probe: Man held after woman found dead in Gloucestershire
A man arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman was found dead in Stonehouse is being held by police for further questioning.
Emergency services were called to reports a woman - believed to be in her 50s - was injured at a property in Bath Road at around 12.30am on Sunday (November 28). She died at the scene.
A 53-year-old man from Cheltenham was subsequently arrested on suspicion of murder.
Gloucestershire Police have now been granted a court extension to continue questioning the man.
In a statement on Monday afternoon (November 29), a police spokesperson said: "The 53-year-old from Cheltenham will now remain in police custody for an additional 36 hours following his arrest in connection with the death of a woman in Stonehouse.
"Officers from the Major Crime Investigation Team are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death and anyone with information which could assist is asked to contact police."
