M4: Motorway crash that caused hour-long delays around Bristol cleared

A crash on the M4 that caused serious delays on the motorway and the M32 has now been cleared.

Traffic is moving slowly as a result of the accident on the westbound carriageway of the M4 from J19 for the M32 to J20 for the M5 at Almondsbury.

Three lanes of traffic had been closed after the crash involving two cars.

Avon Fire and Rescue Service posted on Twitter, saying that emergency services had been at the scene.

It had caused tailbacks on the M32 in to Bristol.

Avon Fire and Rescue Service said that a passenger in one of the vehicles had been taken to hospital.

There were delays of over an hour for motorists.
