Devon: Elderly woman in hospital with serious injuries after car crash
An elderly woman is seriously injured in hospital after a car crash in Devon.
It happened in Willand just after 3pm on Thursday 15 April.
Emergency services were called to the incident in Silver Street, which involved a blue Mitsubishi Space Star and a white Mercedes SUV.
The driver of the Mitsubishi, an 80-year-old local woman, suffered serious injuries and she is now in the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital.
The driver and passengers of the Mercedes, a mother and two children, were uninjured.
Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Due to the circumstances, police required a full examination of the scene and consequently the road was closed for a number of hours while this was undertaken, and recovery of the vehicles took place.
"If there were any witnesses to this incident, or anyone who has information, it is requested that they call 101 and quote log 517 of the 15th April 2021."
