Emergency services have issued a warning to drivers due to black ice in parts of Cornwall.

As temperatures dropped to around 1°C on Sunday 6 December, Wadebridge Community Fire and Rescue teams had to respond to a car that skidded and flipped on black ice.

A firefighter at Wadebridge Community Fire Station tweeted the driver was not seriously injured.

They said: “Black ice warning: As the temperatures drop, we ask that you all take extra care while travelling. This morning we responded to an RTC on the outskirts of Wadebridge involving a car and a residential property.”
