Three men arrested following illegal rave at Charmy Down near Bath

Police investigating an illegal rave near Bath have arrested three men on suspicion of conspiring to cause a public nuisance.

The men, aged 22, 23 and 26, remain in police custody at the time of publication.

Thousands of people attended the rave, which took place at the former Charmy Down airfield from Saturday 18 to Sunday 19 July 2020.

Many residents reported being disturbed by the noise, which could be heard across the city and even in Keynsham and Saltford, around 10 miles away.

Officers are continuing to investigate the event and would like to hear from anyone with information. They are asked to call 101 quoting reference 5220160383.

Avon & Somerset Police say they continue to have patrolling officers dedicated to responding to unlawful gatherings and want to know if members of the public suspect an event is being set up so they can intervene early on to prevent it.

Farmers and landowners are also urged to review their security measures.
