Cleaners concerned about potentially infectious waste littered in beauty spots in North Somerset
People heading to beauty spots are being told to take their rubbish home.
It is after face masks, wet wipes and hand sanitiser bottles were found dumped on Weston-super-Mare beach.
Those who clean up North Somerset's coasts and countryside say they're worried the waste left behind by visitors could be contagious.
North Somerset Council say they are looking at bringing in fines who those who do drop rubbish.
Following in the footsteps of Bristol City Council and Bath and North East Somerset council, A private company could be brought in to fine people for littering, fly tipping and dog fouling.
Councillor Bridget Petty says residents have been telling them they need to take the issue of littering further than their current stance.
