A restaurant in Bristol has shut its doors after one of its members of staff tested positive for Covid-19.

Seven Lucky Gods said the member of staff has not been at the Wapping Wharf restaurant since Tuesday 7 July but as a precaution they are carrying out a deep clean and staying closed until further notice.

Bosses have now announced that all staff members who have had a Covid-19 test, have had negative results.

They are still awaiting results from a few members of the team but no-one has shown any symptoms or felt unwell.

The restaurant will remain closed until Monday 20 July as a precaution.

The Japanese fusion restaurant said in a social media post they were "gutted" but want to be transparent with customers.

It's one of a few establishments in the West Country that has had to close because of positive coronavirus results.

In Burnham-on-Sea The Lighthouse pub also had to close after a confirmed case of Covid-19.

Its closure affected the nearby Saagar Indian Takeaway which had to shut because one of its delivery drivers had frequented the pub on the so-called 'Super Saturday'.

The Lighthouse will reopen to members of the public on Monday 13 July.
