First hot air balloons of 2020 fly over Bristol
Hot air balloons have been spotted flying over Bristol for the first time this year.
MJ Ballooning posted on Twitter this morning (Tuesday 7 July) telling people "to look out the window" because "there could be a few surprises flying by".
Hot air balloons are an iconic sight in Bristol and today's scenes will be welcomed as the coronavirus pandemic forced most summer events to be cancelled and many feared they would go a whole year without seeing a balloon in the sky.
Three blue balloons went up this morning, as crews carried out a flight to rehearse the social distancing measures on board.
People have been posting their pictures on social media.
This morning marks the beginning of more balloon flights this summer, as organisers of the city's famous Balloon Fiesta announced they will take off this year.
On Thursday 2 July they revealed there will be flights this summer, but no on-the-ground activity at Ashton Court.
