Prince Charles puts foot in it during Gloucestershire visit

Prince Charles had a moment to forget during his visit to Gloucestershire - after stepping in horse muck.

The heir to the throne managed to put his foot in it during a visit to the Cotswold Farm Park in Cheltenham.

The incident was caught on camera as the royal walked through one of the site’s many fields.

Fortunately, park owner and Countryfile presenter Adam Henson was on hand to quickly wipe the muck from Prince Charles’ shoe using a handkerchief.

He then went on to meet some of the park’s animals, including their horses, pigs and goats.

The visit was one of two engagements Prince Charles carried out in Gloucestershire today, and was intended to highlight the importance of the conservation work they do.

It is also hoped his visit will encourage members of the public to go to the park once it reopens.

The royal later visited Tetbury’s Shipton Mill, which holds a royal warrant and specialises in making organic flour.
