Man found in Somerset died from stab wounds post-mortem examination confirms
A post-mortem examination has confirmed a man who was found dead in a garden in Somerset died from stab wounds.
A murder investigation was launched after the body was found in Edithmead, near Highbridge.
A 44-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and police say he has since been detained in "secure accommodation under the care of mental health services."
Police were called to a property just after 2.30pm on Thursday 25 June, amid concerns for a man's welfare. The body was subsequently found.
Enquiries are continuing and officers remain at the scene while patrols have been increased as a result.
Detective Chief Inspector Mark Almond said: “This is a very serious incident in which a man has lost his life. Family liaison officers will be providing support for the next of kin at this difficult time.
