Burglar rescued after being found dangling from window of house in Swindon

A burglar had to call the emergency services for help after getting stuck in the window of an empty house in Swindon.

Police were called to the address on Groundwell Road just before 1am on Thursday 18 June by Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service.

They say they had taken a call from a man in his 50s saying he was trapped.

Officers got into the empty building and helped to free the man, who was dangling upside down because his leg had become trapped in a window.

Frederick Moulton, aged 53 and from Swindon, appeared before magistrates on 19 June, and admitted burglary and possession of a Class B drug (amphetamine). He has been given an 18-month community order.
