Bristol City has received a positive coronavirus test result - just days before the football season restarts.

The individual, who has not been named, is said to be asymptomatic and feeling well.

As per the EFL guidelines, they are self-isolating away from the rest of the squad, who returned to training last month.

The Robins will face Blackburn Rovers when the Championship resumes this weekend, though the missing person will not be involved - whether player or staff member.

Football across the UK is due to resume this week, with the Premier League recommencing on Wednesday evening and the Championship on Saturday.

Bristol City are currently seventh in the table - one place below the play-offs - with nine games left to play.
