Walkers rescue sheep and her lambs from Dartmoor peat trench

A couple of ramblers rescued a sheep and a couple of her lambs fro a deep peat trench on Dartmoor.

Friends Ian Lane and Russell Terry stumbled across the stricken animals near Lynch Tor on the western side of the national park.

Russell told ITV News: "We were on a big walk of the moor and just came across this not long into our walk."

Ian added on Facebook: "We were just commenting on how dangerous it was and how difficult (it would be) to get out of if you were to fall in and, low and behold, we spotted the sheep in there."
