Fire crews rescue cow from River Avon near Bath

A cow was rescued from the River Avon after it had fallen in while grazing nearby.

Avon Fire and Rescue crews from Bath and Keynsham were called were contacted just before 8am, Friday 5 June, to deal with the animal, which had got into trouble on the Kelston Park side of the river.

The water rescue team deployed by boat from Saltford. They used specialist safety equipment to get the cow back on dry land.

Avon Fire and Rescue's control team put this 'a-moo-sing' Tweet on social media.
