Hate-crime investigation after woman coughed and spat at by man claiming to have coronavirus in Taunton

A man claiming to have Covid-19 coughed and spat at a woman in a hate crime, police say.

He also directed verbal abuse at the woman, in her 30s.

The incident happened around 3pm on Monday 18 May at Morrisons supermarket in Taunton.

Police have now released CCTV images of a man they want to speak to.

Avon and Somerset Police say the man is white, around 5ft 7ins, tall, with a long beard and blonde hair.

He was wearing a white T-shirt with a NASA logo on and red sunglasses.
