Hilarious video shows Devon and Cornwall police thrown off picnic bench as gravity takes hold

A group of police officers suffered an 'unfortunate incident' with a picnic bench after gravity took hold.

Footage of the event - which appears to come from CCTV - shows the three officers sitting around a picnic bench.

But, when one of them stands up to leave, the weight of the other two officers makes the bench tip over - throwing them to the floor.

The hilarious footage of the Road Policing Officers was shared by their North Devon counterpart Sgt Steve BJ on Twitter.

It has sparked some section rivalry, with Sgt Greg Bridgett commenting: "Unfortunately this is how the other sections operate!! Wouldn’t happen on our team the mighty ‘F’ section."

Devon and Cornwall, and Dorset's road policing teams simply commented "oh dear, oh dear".

Many also suggested there should be a cake fine paid by the officer who stood up.
