Police forces come together to help 12-year-old boy deliver homemade PPE to Wiltshire grandmother
Wiltshire and Northamptonshire police forces came together to help a 12-year-old boy deliver homemade PPE to his grandmother.
12-year-old Cameron Douglas spent all of his of his pocket money on a 3D printer so he could make the equipment for his grandmother who lives in Bassett House Care Home in Wiltshire.
During a police Facebook Q+A Cameron asked whether an adult could transport his homemade PPE from Northamptonshire to where his grandmother lives.
Due to lockdown restrictions imposed at the time officers advised Cameron and his family not to travel. And instead made contact with their colleagues at Wiltshire Police.
Officers from the force’s Driver Training School, who were due to make a long journey anyway as part of training, collected the PPE from Cameron’s house and drove it to the Wiltshire border.
From there it was picked up by Wiltshire Police officers who dropped it off to Cameron’s grandmother who was said to be very proud of her grandson.
