Person showing possible Covid-19 symptoms assaults police officers in Devon
Four Devon and Cornwall Police officers were assaulted by a violent man who was showing symptoms of coronavirus.
Officers were left worried they may have caught Covid-19 after two separate incidents in Plymouth and Exeter.
On Twitter, a response team officer in Plymouth, said: "An extremely busy shift today started with two officers being assaulted. The suspect was displaying symptoms of Covid-19. Two further officers assisted due to the males violent behaviour.''
The officers had to decontaminate and all four returned to their families after their shift. It's not yet known whether they contracted the virus.
Meanwhile, in Exeter, a "drunken female in the street" attacked an officer who was trying to find her a safe place to stay.
The officer was punched while trying to help the woman. Police say she was then arrested and charged.
