How virtual camping is keeping our children entertained during lockdown

Dozens of children in Bristol have joined thousands of youngsters across the country for a #CampAtHome world record bid.

It's thought at least 60 thousand Brownies, Guides, Cubs and Scouts took part across the UK, including 40 children from 134th Bristol, based in Totterdown.

Here are the “rules” for 'Virtual Camping' :

  • Pack a bag

  • Build a den at home / pitch a tent in the front room or garden / hang up a hammock

  • Sleep in your shelter of choice

  • Build a ‘campfire’ (real or virtual)

  • Take part in an activity eg. singing

  • Make a hot chocolate and/or s'mores (marshmallows and chocolate digestives)

  • Take a photo or video to record the event
