Young Plymouth Argyle fan in USA sends letter filled with pocket money to help Devon club
After publishing a note about the current financial uncertainties, Plymouth Argyle's club chairman and majority shareholder Simon Hallett received a letter from an American fan who wanted to help.
10-year-old Argyle supporter Kasra Sherrell read Simon's note at home in New York and was desperate to try and help the club.
Kasra started rounding up his pocket money, including a £10 note given to him from his uncle on his last trip the UK.
He went about it himself to find Simon Hallett's address and popped the letter - filled with his pocket money - on his dad's bedside table ready for posting.
The letter reads:
The Sherrell family have roots in Tavistock, and have been Argyle supporters for generations.
As a child, Kasra's father Matt Sherrell, played football with Pilgrim legend Mickey Evans.
According to Matt, Kasra gets lots of questions from his school friends in America when he wears the Green Army kit.
In a letter written by Simon Hallett, published on Plymouth Argyle's website, it revealed the club was suffering financially - like the majority across the country.
He announced that they have furloughed most staff but will lose money due to the coronavirus lockdown.
He went on to add...
Supporters all over have been donating to Plymouth Argyle's fundraiser, smashing its £50,000 target in four days.
