Cornwall youngster with cerebral palsy takes on epic challenge to raise money for NHS, inspired by Captain Tom Moore

A courageous eight year old, who underwent life-changing surgery in America, will be doing something nobody ever thought possible – carrying out a charity walk.

Jaydon Mitchell Tomlinson was born prematurely at just 26 weeks. He has cerebral palsy, an incurable condition which affects movement and co-ordination.

His mum Emma Mitchell has fought tirelessly over the years to pay for Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy (SDR) to help improve his muscle movement and try to find solutions to improve his life.

As a result of fundraising efforts, Jaydon, from Bodmin, underwent surgery in the USA last year and is now improving his movement day by day.

Inspired by Captain Tom, he has decided to walk 100 metres each day around the green by his home, for 14 days.

Jaydon has already raised £700 for the Royal Cornwall Hospital charity, where he was born.

Emma added that Jaydon is doing really well and is pleased with the amount raised.
