Gloucestershire family describes 'unbelievable' reunion after father hospitalised with coronavirus

A father from Gloucestershire who thought he was going to die in hospital after he contracted Covid-19 has been reunited with his family.

Rob Thomas was in hospital for almost three weeks.

He puts his recovery down to following his doctor's strict regime of breathing exercises and wants to thank doctors and nurses for saving his life.

Rob's family say that being apart from him at such a worrying time was agony:

Rob was without a phone in hospital but once his recovery began, his family were allowed to drop one off for him.

Eventually he recovered and was able to have a heart-warming reunion with wife Viv and the rest of his family:

Rob says people need to follow government and NHS guidance.

The whole family say they are eternally grateful to carers and staff at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital.
