Job losses at Truro's Debenhams as it closes seven stores

Debenhams has confirmed the closure of seven stores across the country, including one in Truro, with a total loss of 422 jobs.

The department store firm went into administration last week, casting a shadow over the future of its 22,000 staff.

After failing to reach an agreement with landlords at seven stores, it has been forced to permanently close them.

The shops will not re-open after the current coronavirus lockdown.

Debenhams bosses are still in discussion with landlords at 15 stores across the country.
