Two men from Weymouth arrested on suspicion of murder after alleged assault on Dorchester Road
A murder investigation has been launched in Dorset after a man died following an alleged attack.
Police were called to reports of an assault on Dorchester Road in Weymouth at around 4pm on Saturday [April 4].
When officers arrived, they found a man with a serious head injury who was then taken to hospital for treatment.
Following enquiries two men from Weymouth, aged 40 and 47, were arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm.
The 32-year-old died in hospital just hours later, on the morning of Sunday April 5.
The two men were then subsequently arrested on suspicion of murder and are currently assisting detectives with their enquiries.
A full investigation is now underway led by detectives from Dorset Police’s Major Crime Investigation Team (MCIT).
A police cordon has been put in place while officers examine the scene.
