RAF intercept two Russian air force planes off Cornish coast
Two Russian military planes had to be escorted by the RAF after approaching the UK’s air space near Cornwall.
The RAF scrambled their Typhoon jets yesterday (March 10) after two Tu-142 Bear-F planes were spotted near the west coast of the British Isles.
At no time did the Russians enter UK sovereign airspace but they were close enough to warrant an official response from the RAF, who escorted them as far south as Penzance before French forces intervened.
