Mother calling for new laws to tackle bullying after son's death
A woman from North Somerset is meeting with MPs in London tonight calling for new laws to tackle bullying in schools.
Julie Steward's son Simon was just fifteen when he took his own life in 2014.Mrs Steward has been joined by dozens of other parents whose children have suffered from bullying.
Six years ago Julie returned home to find Simon had taken an overdose of prescription drugs. He died a few days later.
Julie says he was due to be taken out of school before he died due to years of bullying.
This evening Julie is meeting with MPs to discuss a new code of conduct of bullying in schools which she hopes may one day save lives.
