Banksy says he's 'kind of glad' Valentine's Day artwork was vandalised as 'initial sketch was a lot better'

Elusive Bristol street artist Banksy has said has said he is 'kind of glad' his Valentine's day piece in his home city was vandalised.

In a post on his Instagram page he said his initial sketch was a lot better.

The artwork that appeared in Bristol on Valentine’s Day was boarded up after it was vandalised.

The artwork, which features a young girl firing red flowers from a catapult, appeared on the side of a house in Barton Hill last week.

Banksy confirmed he was behind the piece by posting an image of it on his Instagram page on Valentine’s Day.
