Boxer Lee Haskins retires after losing to Davey Oliver Joyce

Bristol boxer Lee Haskins has announced he is retiring after losing to Davey Oliver Joyce in Belfast on Saturday night.

The 37 year old said it was a tough fight that he enjoyed but it would be his last.

The WBO European super-bantamweight title fight was stopped seconds before the end of the fifth round with Haskins struggling with a long term knee injury.

Haskins held on to the IBF bantamweight title from 2015 to 2017 and suffered just five defeats in 41 fights over a 17 year professional career.

He took to Facebook to thank fans for their support over years and said his focus would now be on supporting his son Anton's own boxing career.

Lee says he will now concentrate on coaching his son Anton - and the two came into our studio to chat with Kylie Pentelow and Jonty Messer.
