Final plans for Bath's Clean Air Zone unanimously backed by Council

Final plans for Bath's Clean Air Zone have been unanimously backed by the Council's cabinet.

The proposed zone is due to begin in November.

High polluting HGVs, coaches and buses will face a charge of £100, while high polluting taxis, minibuses and vans will pay £9.

The Council hopes the Government will sign off the programme by the middle of next month.

Climate change campaigners say the new scheme is essential to improve air quality.

The past year has seen a number of protests urging both the Council and members of the public to do more to tackle climate change.
