Teenager has stomach cut after refusing to handover money in attack in Barnstaple
A teenager has suffered cuts to his stomach after refusing to handover money.
Police say the 14 year old boy was confronted by an older man armed with a knife in a footpath in Barnstaple.
The man demanded money from the boy but when he refused, he attacked him with a knife causing wounds to his stomach.
The incident happened at around 7:45am on Monday 13 January, in the footpath between Ashleigh Road, Fort Street and Sunset Heights.Devon and Cornwall Police are asking anyone with information to come forward.
The attacker is a white male, aged between 50 and 60 years old, with scruffy grey hair no longer than an inch in length, thick grey eyebrows, with a mark on his cheek just under his eye.
He was wearing a black beanie hat, a black leather jacket with several pockets on the front, dark blue jeans which appeared dirty, and black running style shoes with white soles.
Police are asking anyone with information to call 101.
