Driver dies at level crossing in Somerset

A driver has died after their car was struck by a train on a level crossing in Somerset on Monday night (23 December).

The incident happened in Bradford-on-Tone and involved the Great Western Rail (GWR) service from Paddington to Plymouth.

No-one on the train was hurt, though the driver was treated for shock.

Passengers were taken to their destination by coach. The line reopened at 6:00am Tuesday morning.
