Council approves plans for Forest Green Rovers wooden 'eco-stadium' near Stroud
Stroud District Council has approved plans for an all-wooden football stadium near, set to be the new home of Forest Green Rovers.
Owner Dale Vince originally pitched the plans for the eco-stadium back in June, but they were rejected amid concerns over noise and landscaping.
However, Vince's second pitch scraped a majority with the council approving the plans six votes to four.

Concerns about the economy in Nailsworth, as well as traffic around the new location, were raised by those at the meeting.
The move will see the Rovers' home move from The New Lawn in the Gloucestershire town of Nailsworth to Eastington, just off the M5.
Vince says he hopes to build the greenest sports stadium in the world.
